WHY ARE WE DIFFERENT?
Unlike many of our corporate competitors, we are a completely INDEPENDENT, Whole of Market Mortgage Broker offering a choice of around 100 lenders and up to 25,000 different mortgage schemes.
We are also able to look around a range of different insurers for your insurance needs. The lowest interest rates are not always the best deals and we focus on finding the most suitable product to fit your individual circumstances.
WHO ARE WE?
Discovery Mortgage Services is headed by Geraint ‘Gee’ Spiller, a seasoned professional in the financial services industry. Our goal at Discovery Mortgages is to help our clients by offering honest, independent advice on their mortgage and insurance needs. We like to get to know our clients and deliver them service that exceeds their expectations.
We’re not 9am-5pm because our clients aren’t. Discovery Mortgage Services are located in Wendover and mainly service the home counties of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Northamptonshire, but we can also deal with clients Nationally.
We deal with all types of mortgages but focus on residential, New Build and First Time Buyers. We are also able to assist with Affordable Homes Buying Schemes like Help To Buy, Own New and Shared Ownership. We are happy to help wherever you are in England, Wales & Scotland, we also understand that you may have limited time available, so we offer telephone, email, video call, office based meetings, plus local visits by appointment.
WHAT DO WE DO?
- First time buyer Agreement in Principles and budgeting how much can be borrowed.
- Mortgage and Insurance reviews to ensure that you are getting value for money.
- Mortgages for Purchases, Remortgages and Buy To Let properties.
- Mortgages for people with complicated income, such as company directors, contractors and those receiving annual bonuses.
- Mortgages for self-build properties and unusual properties.
- Mortgages for people who have had credit issues in the past.
- Shared ownership and Shared Equity mortgage schemes, such as Help To Buy.
- Life insurance, critical illness cover, family and business protection, accident, sickness and unemployment cover, buildings, contents insurance and landlord cover.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
At Discovery Mortgage Services we aim to offer a fee free service wherever possible. Our minimum fee is £595 however we will be paid a commission by the lenders and in most circumstances this will cover our minimum fee.
Under some circumstances, we may need to charge a fee, which will be a maximum of 1% of the mortgage. Where fees are applicable you will be fully informed before an application is submitted. No fees are charged for an application that does not complete.

Our minimum fee is £595 however we will be paid a commission by the lenders and in many cases this will cover our minimum fee. This fee is chargeable on issue of a successful mortgage offer. If you do not proceed with a mortgage that has gone to offer, the £595 fee will be charged. Under some circumstances, for more complex cases, we may need to charge a £595 fee as well as receiving commission by the lender. For highly complex cases a maximum of 1% of the mortgage could be charged as a fee. Where fees are applicable you will be fully informed before an application is submitted. No fees are charged for an application that does not complete to a mortgage offer.
